Clachtoll Caravan is a luxury 6 berth (3 bedroom) static on the North West Highland coast, available for hire from spring until autumn.
It is situated on the NC500 route on a spotless site with stunning views and fantastic scenery. Indeed, it’s only a two minute walk from the caravan to one of the best beaches on the North West coast.
Local Amenities
As well as being in a spectacular setting, Clachtoll Caravan is also well served for local amenities. It’s only a two minute walk to a small shop with fresh produce, coffee and bacon rolls, and there’s an excellent fish and chip van just up the road. Only six miles away is the lovely village of Lochinver which boasts two small supermarkets, a butcher, a newsagent, cafes, bars, gift shops, a pottery and fuel. There are also many little artisan craft businesses a short drive away such as The Jammery (home made jam and marmalade and much more).
Clachtoll Caravan is a fabulous base from which to tour the North West or simply to relax, kayak, swim or paddle board in the aquamarine sea or walk the beautiful hills, peat roads or mountains. The night skies are beautiful as there is no light pollution so look forward to seeing some fantastic sunsets and if you are very lucky you could catch the amazing Northern Lights.
History, Geography and Geology

To reach Clachtoll, you will drive through the iconic mountains of Assynt (such as Suilven, above). Assynt is known for its unique geology – hence its status as a Geopark – but there’s history everywhere too. On your way you’ll pass Ardvreck Castle, the brooding remains of a castle thought to have been built in 1590 by the Macleods who had owned Assynt since the 13th century. Then, when you reach Clachtoll, a short walk along the coast will bring you to an Iron Age broch, which was recently excavated.
A Cosy Corner
For cosy accommodation in Clachtoll, you can’t get better than Clachtoll Caravan. One of the charms of Clachtoll is its array of locally-run independent businesses and Clachtoll Caravan is no exception. The owner, Gillian, stays on site so is available for any questions or requests you might have. With friendly hospitality, you’ll be sure to enjoy your stay.
